In Hollywood’s most recent scandal revolving around Harvey Weinstein - the Co-Founder of Miramax, and American film producer - actors and actresses alike are now coming forward with horror tales of not only Weinstein, but other executives in the film business.
Some of these actors include, John Travolta who claimed he had to perform oral sex for parts in movies, and Terry Cruz who says he was sexually assaulted by a male producer. Singers like ex Pussycat Doll Kaya Jones are also coming forward claiming they were prostituted for record deals. While most are asking “why now?” I’ll take it a step further and explain how this is not only not a new phenomenon, but how the well-known transactional nature of sex has plagued Hollyweird for one-hundred years as well as pedophilia.
Let’s begin with the infamous Barbara Walters interview from 2013 featuring Corey Feldman. In this interview, Feldman blows the whistle on Hollywood pedophilia, much to the dismay of Walters who in returns tells him, “You’re damaging an entire industry.” It is important to note here that Walters did not seem shocked in the slightest about what Feldman had said, but rather angry like he had let out a major secret. Feldman exposed Hollywood after his best friend Corey Haim killed himself in 2010 after telling Feldman he couldn’t handle what had happened to him when he was eleven years old, which was rape and molestation from a very well known, very powerful Hollywood tycoon that information suggests points to Charlie Sheen. You can see the well-made video regarding that claim here.
It should come as no surprise that Walters would be a pedophile apologist, she is far from the only one. Meryl Streep gave Roman Polanski a standing ovation at an award show after he fled the country for raping a thirteen year old girl in the 1970’s, and said it was a ‘shame’ what he was going through and what was happening to him.
From the beginning of Hollywood, it was common for sex to mean the same thing as a handshake. It was used to close deals, sign starlettes to roles, and even done after signing a check, and thus the casting couch was created. The casting couch knew many famous names, a few of them being Marilyn Monroe, Shirley Temple and Judy Garland. Let’s take it a step further into list form.
Louis B Mayer - Co-Founder of MGM Studios
Sexually assaulted teenage Judy Garland when she was sixteen years old.
Arthur Freed - Hollywood film producer
Exposed himself to Shirley Temple when was eleven years old.
Harry Cohn - Production Direction of Columbia Pictures Corporation
Long history of sexual abuse, was said to have the most well attended funeral in Hollywood history because people showed up to make sure he was dead.
Darryl F. Zanuck - Film producer and studio executive
Solicited starlettes on a regular basis for sex
Howard Hughes - Pilot, film director, investor, businessman
Had his own casting couch and multiple starlette lovers her promised fame and fortune to.
You’ll notice these photos are all in black and white, except for the last one, that was to show you just how far back this problem goes, as I stated in the beginning, one hundred years of Hollywood abuse and scandals. Even actors like Johnny Depp have been accused of being into child snuff porn and satanic rituals. One of the most well-known Hollywood friends of Depp’s was Hunter S Thompson (pictured above), who many said would have child sex parties at his home on Owl Farm in Woody Creek Aspen Colorado. The parties were said to involve child traffic victims who would be put on display for sex and then their deaths would be recorded or snuff porn.
For those of you who are not familiar with Bohemian Grove and the Satanic rituals and ritual abuse of children and teenagers that takes place there, you can do your own research, but a good place to start would simply be here.
The list is never ending for predators in Hollywood, the good news is, It’s no longer a well-kept secret. Hollywood has seen its worst box office season in twenty-five years, and the numbers have dropped 16% from 2016. There are double the movies from last year, and a higher population, yet Hollywood seems to be failing. LA Times asked, “Has Hollywood lost touch with American Values?” Well considering all new movies seem to be either remakes, or the ever recycled franchise of super hero movies, all of which are focused more on diversity and gender balance than actual quality or plot, yes, I’d say so.
Film in recent years has taken on the role of being the primary vehicle of PC culture, mix that with scandals and an endless amount of accessible information at everyone’s fingertips and you’ve got yourself a hard sell. Hollywood used to make up the box office losses with DVD sales, but thanks to Netflix, Hulu, and other sources, DVD sales have plummeted as well. Hollywood is trying desperately to save itself by becoming more politically and human rights based, however, no one wants to hear about what some multi-millionaire behind a gated and guarded community thinks about policies that directly affect us average Americans, and not them.
You’ll notice everyone dropped Harvey Weinstein at once, after the years of SNL and award show jokes and references about him, once this scandal broke he was immediately displaced. Cutting the bad fruit from the tree? I’d say so. With one exiled it makes it easier for the rest to hide. However, it doesn’t seem like anyone is willing to let this go so easily, instead more claims are surfacing, and I’m glad. Hollywood has long been the cesspit of pedophilia, underground trafficking rings, abuse and blackmail laden millionaires who love nothing more than to preach their generosity and moral high grounds to the rest of us. Hollywood is dying, and to that I say, good.
